Wedding and Civil Partnership receptions require someone to co-ordinate, direct and announce the ceremonial proceedings such as receiving linem speeches and cake-cutting ceremony.
The day involves many different elements, the ceremony party, guests, venue, photographer, video, restaurant bar and kitchen staff, band or entertainers and drivers - all these need to be co-ordinated to ensure that everything works well and to schedule.
My job as a toastmaster is to link everything together and ensure that nothing is forgotten and everything works to time. This needs to be done by someone from outside the ceremony party, but working on your behalf, so that you can concentrate on enjoying your special day.
¡ Advise on etiquette and customs during planning.
¡ Formally greet the couple at the Reception Venue.
¡ Entrance of the Couple and Guests into reception area.
¡ Introduction/Announcement of Grace.
¡ Conduct the Toasts and introduce/announce the Speakers.
¡ Ceremony of Cutting the Cake.
